QuantoTech selected for Angels for Climate Solutions

QuantoTech was selected as one of 15 companies out of an extremely competitive applicant pool to participate in the Vancouver Economic Commision’s Angels for Climate Solutions competition and investment training program.

“Over the next six weeks, these startups are honing their pitches, navigating deal structures, and presenting their innovation pitches to the investor cohort.

At the end of the six weeks, five startups will advance to a 10-week training intensive and vie to win the $100,000 investment. The top five will also receive special application support and coaching to submit their solutions to VEC’s flagship Project Greenlight program.”

“We are excited to have been selected with 14 other amazing up-and-coming startups, and are looking forward to the training program as we prepare for upcoming investment rounds,” says Alycia van der Gracht, Founder.

QuantoTech has shipped two QFarms, one destined for Ontario, the other for Nova Scotia.

B.C. ramps up support for agritech

“Two Vancouver-based agritech businesses are paving the way for stronger food security through B.C.’s Agritech Ramp-Up Pilot Program (Ramp-Up) with robotics and technology to support B.C.’s agriculture sector.”

QuantoTech was excited to participate in B.C.’s Agritech Ramp-Up Pilot Program and receive  $25,000 as one of the winners of the Business Development Grant provided by IAF for Cohort 1.

Vertical Agriculture:Exploring Its Role in Sustainable andResilient Community Food Systems

QuantoTech has teamed up with the University of the Fraser Valley and  i-Open Technologies Inc. to explore innovative ways of addressing food system vulnerabilities and increasing resilience in the face of climate change and economic shocks.

Three outcomes to the study

It is clear that the increasing risk of food shortages are on the forefront of peoples’ minds. Vertical farming is one emerging mechanism to help reduce these stresses.
